Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of the LEGITTAP mobile application, beta services, and related web pages.
1. The service
LEGITTAP analyzes user-submitted text, phone numbers, URLs, screenshots, and images for indicators associated with scams, phishing, impersonation, payment fraud, credential theft, social engineering, and related risks. Results may combine deterministic rules, threat intelligence, and AI-assisted analysis.
2. No guarantee of accuracy
Fraud tactics change constantly. Threat databases may be incomplete or delayed. AI systems and deterministic rules can make mistakes. A “low risk” result does not prove legitimacy, and a “suspicious” or “high risk” result is not a legal finding that a person or organization committed fraud.
You are responsible for independently verifying important requests, identities, phone contacts, websites, payment instructions, account alerts, job offers, and other consequential claims. A familiar caller ID or structurally valid phone number does not prove the identity of a caller or sender.
3. Account responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for activity performed through your account. Do not share passwords, one-time security codes, or other authentication secrets with LEGITTAP support.
4. Acceptable use
You may use LEGITTAP for lawful personal or business fraud-risk analysis. You may not use the service to:
- violate law or another person’s rights;
- upload content you are not authorized to process;
- probe, attack, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass service security or usage controls;
- use results to impersonate LEGITTAP, OpenAI, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, or another provider;
- represent a LEGITTAP result as a certification, identity verification, legal conclusion, or guarantee.
5. Submitted content
You retain your rights in content you submit. You authorize LEGITTAP and its service providers to process that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the requested service functions, subject to the Privacy Policy.
6. Beta service
During beta, features may change, be unavailable, contain defects, or be discontinued. We may impose rate limits, scan limits, supported-format limits, or other safeguards. Beta access may be modified or withdrawn.
7. Subscriptions and purchases
If paid subscriptions are enabled, prices and billing terms will be shown through the applicable app store and purchase flow before you buy. Store billing, cancellation, refund, and subscription-management rules may also apply. Restoring purchases may use RevenueCat and the applicable platform store.
8. Intellectual property
LEGITTAP’s software, branding, interface, original documentation, and service design are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of LEGITTAP technology or branding.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LEGITTAP is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.
LEGITTAP does not provide legal, financial, tax, cybersecurity-incident-response, law-enforcement, or emergency services.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LEGITTAP and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from reliance on a scan result, inability to use the service, fraud by a third party, loss of data, or unauthorized account activity.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Termination and deletion
You may stop using LEGITTAP at any time and may request account deletion through the deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, service integrity, or comply with law.
12. Governing law
To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live are not waived.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
